The heartbeat of Spanish badminton

Spain has been able to count on the best badminton in the world for the last two weeks. An offer which is very difficult to refuse for the fans of this sport in the country that saw the birth of stars such as Carolina Marín, Pablo Abián and Kike Peñalver.

Spain is not a country with a tradition in the discipline of the shuttlecock. However, it is known for its passion, and the national badminton players are not lacking in that.

This passion translates into a constant search for continuous improvement, innovation and work. Federations, coaches, athletes and fans are involved in every event, behind the scenes with the organisation and in the stands.

In the case of the BWF World Junior Championships we have had the presence of volunteers from parts of the world as unimaginable as Iran or Botswana. People who love this sport and collaborate whenever they have the opportunity. Nevertheless there have not only been foreigners among them, in addition to the staff of the area, there are volunteers from various areas of Spain, such as La Rioja, Catalonia and Madrid.

In addition, we have had the warmth of many fans in the stands. Like the CB Oviedo, who travelled filling a bus to see the future stars of world badminton. We have also had the support of fans from Andalusia or the Community of Madrid or Galicia for example. In addition to being attracted by the event, they also wanted to enjoy the gastronomy and cultural offer of Santander.

It is clear that the heartbeat of badminton is thundering in the chest of the Spaniards, who are already offering not only high quality events, with extraordinary organisers, referees and athletes.
