First session runs smoothly at the WJC in Santander

At 09:00h the BWF World Junior Championships kicked off in Santander. Sixteen teams particioated in the first matches of the event.

There were no surprises and matches went on, with the first favourites of the tournament making their way through. Nations such as China, Thailand, India, Chinese Taipei, Germany and Korea swept to 5-0 victories over their rivals.

The toughest match was between England and Canada, which finally fell on the English side: 3 games to 2 for the Canadians with a women’s double that was decided in the third game.
