Since October 17th, in the capital of the Cantabrian Sea, the future stars of world badminton have been competing for the planetary crown.
Six days of badminton and coexistence that will leave indelible memories for all those who have been able to participate in this wonderful festival of sport.
In this edition, finalists were Korea and Chinese Taipei. With an enviable record, Korea arrived on Saturday, having lost only two matches to their rivals. Chinese Taipei, on the other hand, only lost two matches, both in the thrilling semi-final against Indonesia on Friday afternoon.
The final started at 13:00h with a minimal advantage for the Koreans, who came close to losing the mixed doubles. Hope returned to Chinese Taipei’s side as they took the point in the men’s doubles after three hard-fought games. However, Korea’s women’s doubles came to the rescue to seal the victory.
As for the rest of the classification, China stands out, which has remained in fifth place, followed by USA and England, leaving Spain in eighth place with which they make history in this world championship.
It only remains to congratulate all the young athletes who have participated, leaving a brilliant performance and demonstrating that badminton has a future of great quality ahead.
One event closes to give way to another, the World Junior Individual Championships. In this event, the badminton players will no longer compete as a team, but individually in their categories.
Good luck to all of them. We continue in Santander. There is no other better place.
