Calmed spirit and high level sport on the first day of the BWF World Junior Championships

It is undeniable that the level of this event regarding the athlete teams is extremely high, however, only one country will be crowned world champion.

The first day of the BWF World Junior Championships ran smoothly without notable surprises on the initial pools. With two exceptions, the victories have been resounding, with wide differences between the participating teams. The closest matches were, in the first session, England against Canada, with a victory for the Europeans, and in the second session, the Czech Republic against Sri Lanka, which was decided in the last game in favour of the Czechs by 3 games to two.

The victory of Spain was remarkable, which is presented as a tough opponent after its recent continental successes. A victory which sets the tone for Tuesday’s matchday, when the team is facing a strong Hong Kong China team during the afternoon session and Belgium afterwards.
