The die is cast at the BWF World Junior Championships in Santander

The third day of the Badminton World Junior Championships has been exciting, on and off the court.

First positions of the groups have been decided. Leaving the direct elimination ties already defined. And off the court, the atmosphere in the stands was simply spectacular, since all the participants cheered on their teammates. The performances of teams such as Indonesia and Malaysia were the highlights in the stands.

On the court, it was clear to see that the level of countries who do not traditionally stand out has risen like wildfire, such as Australia, who had some great moments in their match against China, despite losing to the Asian giants.

The surprises in the quarter-finals have come from Spain and the United States, who will play in the quarter-finals on the fourth day against two regulars in these rounds in previous editions, Korea and Japan.

We will have to wait until midday on the fourth day to see if the world dream is still alive for these countries or, as might be expected, Asia will once again show its hegemony in the steering wheel.
