The first day of direct crossings at the BWF World Junior Championships in Santander has finally arrived. In the Cantabrian capital, the best teams of junior badminton athletes will duel to define who will be chosen to climb the podium.
In an event in which all the positions are defined, any crossroads is of great interest. However, the one that is likely to attract the most attention is Indonesia versus China. It may seem like a premature match-up between two powerhouses, but we should bare in mind that China did not start this World Cup with a top seed.
The hosts will face a strong Korea side. We will see if the reigning European bronze medallists can put the screws on one of the world badminton monarchs.
