Santander is ready for the BWF World Junior Championships

Santander is ready to become the world badminton’s epicenter. From Monday 17th until the 30th of this month the Junior World Championships will take place, an event which will bring together nearly 900 athletes from 47 countries.

In the Palacio de Deportes of the Cantabrian capital, the stage where the team competition (from the 17th to the 22nd) and the individual competition (from the 24th to the 30th) will take place, everything is getting prepared, as the organisers have been able to verify in a meeting with the media.

The visit was chaired by the Santander’s Mayor, Gema Igual, the Vice President of the Government of Cantabria, Pablo Zuloaga and the CEO of Cantur, Fernando de la Pinta, who were accompanied by the General Director of Sports of the Cantabria’s Government, Mario Iglesias, and the Councillor for Sports in Santander, Felipe Pérez. Representatives of the Badminton World Federation were there as well, for instance Venu Mahalingam, Wa Cheng Koh, Andoni Azurmendi, the Spanish Badminton Federation’s President, and María Luisa Pérez de la Torre, the Cantabrian Badminton Federation’s President.
